Dealer's Choice Album for Cricut Mini Album Design Team

I think my "Sneak Peek" teaser was like the longest teaser ever! I so intended to have this up for you all on Friday, then Saturday and so on and so forth. Sorry for the delay but without further adu . . .

Last week was "Dealer's Choice" for Design Team A over at Cricut Mini Albums. I usually have the best of intentions and very well made plans but my execution isn't always the best. That would be why I have only, just now, completed the album documenting my daughter's birth (she'll be 19 months this week!). I had already started this album before I knew this challenge was coming up. So rather than start another project (and leave this one unfinished even longer!) I decided to finish this one up! I started with a box that at one time contained dinner. I cut three sides from the box leaving the top, long side and back - a perfect book shape! I then used Rusty Pickle's White Chocolate Bunnies to cover the outside and the inside of the box. I also created the inside pages (accordion pages) with the same paper. All of the accents and mats are created using the Rusty Pickle paper and a die cut tag page. I bought this paper set when I was pregnant with the intention of using it for this very project and look! I finally used it!

This is the front of the album. The flower was cut using the Serenade cartridge and the letters were all cut at 3"using the Jasmine cartridge.

I cut the flower from 2 pieces of 12x12 paper. Each paper has 1 flower cut at 3.5", 3", 2.5" and 2". I then layered all of the cuts together. I also bent the edges up slightly to give it a more 3D appearance.

The first page with Ava's birth stats. I just love this picture!
This is the last picture we took before going to the hospital. The font is Plantin Schoolbook and the butterfly is Serenade.

I designed the "Waiting" (much like the other words in this book) in Design Studio so that it was one piece (I hate gluing multiple letters down!)
The word "Waiting" is actually glued on to a little envelope which contains my hidden journaling.

"She's Here" was designed and welded together using Design Studio and Plantin, the butterfly was cut at 2" using the Serenade cartridge
Just a better look at the butterfly.
As usual, most of the mats and the pictures were free hand cut so no real dimensions.
"Daddy's Girl" was, again, designed and welded using Design Studio and the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.

The little tag on the side of the page reads "1st Visitors". Plantin Schoolbook for the names, welded in Design Studio.
Meeting Papaw and Big Sister for the first time!

Another of my favorite pictures. This is my grandmother holding her Great Granddaughter. I'm so lucky to have known my Great Grandmothers and now my daughter will too!

The last page in the book - seemed fitting!
Well, that's it for my mini album. If you have any questions just send me an email or leave me a comment. I'd love to know what you think of this project. Thanks for looking and Happy Scrapping!

A Sneak Peek!

I hope you have been enjoying all of the things I have had to share this week! I'm hoping now that my vacation is over (why is it so time consuming to get ready for and plan a vacation?) that I can post more regularly! Plus, I'm finally getting the hang of this whole blogging thing!

Today I have a sneak peek for you! I'll be posting this full project tomorrow but for the time being here is a little sneak peek at what I have in store for you. See you tomorrow! Happy Scrapping!

A Get Well Card That is Nothing to Sneeze At!

I love getting free samples in the mail. I request them like they are going out of style! Recently I received this adorable little mailer and inside was a package of facial tissues. The packaging was just as cool as the free sample and it inspired me to create this darling little "Get Well" card with a gift inside.

The base cardstock is from DCWV and the accent paper is BoBunny "Sophie" ($6.75 through MemoryWorks). This is basically a pillow box with a lid that has a place on the inside to write a "Get Well" message. The pillow box has an opening cut in it and holds a standard travel pack of facial tissue. It's a Get Well wish and Get Well gift all in one! Thanks for looking!

A Cute Little Treat Box

One of my favorite Cricut Cartridges is Tag's, Bag's, Boxes and More. It's one of the first cartridges I ever purchased and I've loved using it (it's being retired by the way so if you don't have one and you want it, I suggest hopping over to Ebay and picking one up) but I always think of something that it doesn't have that I want. One of those things is a handled treat box. So, I made one!

I used George and Basic Shapes and Design Studio and came up with this cute little treat box. It's about the right size for 2 Ferrero Roche candies (my all time fav!). It's hard to tell from the pictures but I put a plastic sheet over the oval in the front so that whomever receives this darling little gift will be able to see the yummy treats inside. The paper for the box, flower and the tag is from Martha Stewart, the "Thank You" stamp is from Stampin' Up (Wow Flowers), the stamp is inked in Ink it Up and the brad is a mystery brad that I just had in my stash. The flower was cut from Plantin Schoolbook at 2". I just cut the flower 3 times and attached them with the brad. If you would like to make a treat box of your own, just send me an email and I'd be happy to send you the cut file. Be sure to check back tomorrow because I'll have the cutest Get Well Card/Get Well Gift you've ever seen - seriously, it's nothing to "sniff" at **hint, hint**. Happy Scrapping!

First, The Shopping!

I have so many new and exciting things - I just don't know where to start! I guess since everyone loves shopping I'll start there.

First up, MemoryWorks has just introduced their latest installment in the ubber awesome Simple Stories line. For those of you not familiar with Simple Stories let me give you the skinny. It is the most awesome scrapbooking concept I have seen come down the pike in a long, LONG time! It is perfect for experienced scrapbookers as well as those just starting out. It all starts with these awesome page dividers from We R Memory Keepers.

As you can see, all of the pages are different with pockets in various sizes. So what do you do with all of those pockets of various sizes, you ask? Well, you use the Simple Stories system to create the most beautiful front and back layouts you've ever seen, that's what! The first kit released was the Life Documented Kit and it is so completely fabulous! You can check it out here! You just cut apart the element pieces (all which fit beautifully into the page protector pockets) and then start creating your pages. You can add accessories to the elements or leave them as they are (because they are truly fabulous on their own). The elements are front and back but don't worry, unlike other front and back cardstock and scrapbooking items you don't have to choose which side to use! The page protectors are clear so you get to use both sides of the elements! Not to mention that you are doing 2 pages at once, practically! Just look here at some of the awesome things you can create with this one kit.

And now there is a new kit in the works. This kit should be available next month and it is called ele.ment.ary! And here it is:

Better look at the elements:
Designer Cardstock (the kit comes with cardstock but now you can buy additional packs of cardstock! AWESOME!):
Alpha Stickers and more (the kit comes with alpha stickers and adhesive backed cardstock die cuts but now there are other options to add on!):

Journaling Jots (this is totally new and I'm super stoked about it!):
Is it not totally the greatest thing evah? I can't wait to get my hands on it! I bet you can't wait either! I know this is going to sell out fast so I am taking pre-orders for anyone who wants to make sure they get their Simple Stories ele.ment.ary kit! So if you are interested in purchasing a kit please let me know.

But wait! There's more! The Fall/Winter MemoryWorks catalog will be coming out very soon and there are going to be some FABULOUS things in it - seriously, you're going to love it! But with all things new there comes a need to move out the old and that is the case at the MemoryWorks distribution center. To make room for all of the new fabulousness they have seriously slashed prices on our latest Trend Essentials items. You can view all of the current sale here and here. Take a look at some of the great things you'll find:

BoBunny SunKissed Theme Set $6.75!

Making Memories: Vintage Groove Floral Mix Kit $10.00!

BoBunny Petal Pusher Rub Ons $2.80!

There are some great things available at a great price. Just send me an email (see the "Contact Me" link to the left) if you see something you would like to order.

Well, that's all for today. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for some more new stuff! Happy Scrapping!

Bet You Thought I Vanished, Huh?

Well, I didn't! I'm still here and still working but we have been on vacation. The last couple of weeks I have been packing and sorting to get ready for vacation and last week we were actually on vacation. But we're home now (thank God!) and I'm ready to get down to business! I have lots of exciting things to share with you and I promise to get them up ASAP! So keep watching and prepare for some awesome things!
