Just Playing Along

My mojo is slipping. Things are crazy busy again and when I do get a few minutes to play I often find myself sitting and staring. So I decided I'd play along with a couple of challenges to try and liven things up.

Up first is my card for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge.

In the MIM video, Heather Nichol ran some cardstock through her Xyron then die cut it, glittered it and then ran it through the Xyron again. This is usually how I glitter my die cuts too but I wanted to try something a little different. For my take, I took a piece of scrap cardstock (just big enough for my die) and then I took some double sided tape (American Crafts This to That Double Sided Tape) and put side by side strips on the cardstock. I then cut my image (PTI Signature Series Butterfly Die). Once I had my image cut, I pulled the backing of my double side tape off of the first, third and fifth strips and glittered them with green glitter. Once I finished that, I pulled off the second and the fourth strip backings and glittered them with silver glitter. This gave me the striped effect I wanted.

For my second challenge, I did a layout for the MemoryWorks Consultant Studio Challenge. This months challenge was to use banners. This one was easy - I love banners!

Everything on this layout is from the Simple Stories "Fab{U}lous" kit (except the buttons which I re- purposed from an old necklace LOL).

I really like both of these projects and I did manage to make a few more cards since then but still not 100% back in the flow of things. What do you do when your mojo tanks? Any sure fire ways to get it back?
