Today, I want to share a project I created using the new Three Bugs in a Rug One Fine Day products. Aside from being absolutely adorable, I am loving the low price point on Three Bugs! My family and I are saving for a Disney summer vacation so every penny counts. I wanted to show that just because you might be on a budget, doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your creativity!
For this project I used:
I started by pulling out two pieces of cardboard. The cardboard I used is the backing that usually comes in a pack of 12x12 paper. I save all of the cardboard that comes in packaging because it is so easy to re-purpose. My cardboard was just smaller than 12x12 so I cut my pieces to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4". I then covered the boards front and back with paper from the Three Bugs in a Rug "One Fine Day" 6x6 Paper Pad and embellished the pages with the die cuts and stickers. Here's how it turned out:
The paper for all the picture mats were scraps I had in my stash. All of the mats were cut 1/2" larger than the picture size so they will add a nice frame once the picture is added.
I always take a lot of pictures so I wanted to make sure I had plenty of space for all of our spring photos.
I am planning to add a 5"x5" picture on the right page so it will fill in the entire space and then have a nice green border around it.
I'm going to use the small yellow square for journaling. I may add some journaling to a few of the other pages too. I intentionally left some blank spaces for that reason. I wasn't sure if I would want journaling or more embellishments. I'll probably wait until I get the pictures in to decide.
So you're probably wondering, since I said I wanted to make a budget craft, what I spent on this little mini. Well, let's check the math:
- Three Bugs in a Rug "One Fine Day" 6x6 Paper Pad $6.00
- Three Bugs in a Rug "One Fine Day" Die Cuts $2.00
- Three Bugs in a Rug "One Fine Day" Stickers $2.00
- Cardboard base FREE (from other packaging)
- Rings FREE (from stash)
- Stash Paper FREE (left over scraps)
FINAL COST: $10.00 plus I have so much leftover that will make totally cute cards! Not too shabby!
Now it's time for you to journey on. Your next stop is with Sharon. If you get lost along the way, just go back to the MemoryWorks Blog to get back on track! Remember to leave each designer a little comment love for your chance to win a great prize from MemoryWorks!
